Francisco Antonio Lora Cabrera was born in Maizal, province of Santiago, in the year of 1880 and was during all of his life one of the great suppliers of those anonymous rythems and melodys that are kept like cultural heap of the nation.
Inspite of the fact that he wasn't educated in musical theory he reached a high degree of understanding of the office of the creation and was making songs in which appear the most intimate of the Dominican national being.
Diluted many of them in the sonorous surroundings, inasibles, lasting, without registries at least, they are part of the Dominican music roots.
Of his recognized works, titles like San Antonio, Tingo Talango, Eres la mujer mas bella, Pedrito Chávez, San Francisco and there are much more wich, resisting the passage of the years, remain in the Dominican musical scope.
Ñico Lora passed away in the town of Navarrete, the 10 of April of 1971.
